Permits are issued and inspections are made according to the standards set by Florida Statute 381.0065 and Chapter 64E-6, Florida Administrative Code. The septic tank program is staffed by state certified environmental specialists. Staff maintains their certification by taking ongoing education courses, not only as a refresher, but to keep abreast of the rapid changes in the field such as alternative systems, drain field aggregate, aerobic systems and new products. All septic tank staff perform inspections, site visits and complaint response on a daily basis.

Septic tank and well permit application packets have been redesigned to simplify the process for the convenience of clients.
