It is critical to ensure that routine vaccination is maintained during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to protect individuals and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases and outbreaks. Routine vaccination prevents illnesses that lead to additional medical visits, hospitalizations and further strain on the health care system.

Immunizations are one of the major weapons available to combat the spread of infectious disease. Vaccinations play a key role in protecting our children and communities, making it one of the most effective public health interventions known to man.

“This is a call to action for parents, caregivers and health care providers to ensure that all children are protected. On Monday, August 10th and Tuesday, the11th the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie will host an immunization event at the Havert L. Fenn Center in Fort Pierce for seventh graders and kindergartners because they have requirements for school entry. Let’s protect our children by providing immunity early in life, before they encounter potentially lifethreatening diseases,” said Clint Sperber, Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County.

What you must bring with you:

1) You are required to wear a cloth face covering (mask) in public setting in St. Lucie County (The CDC does not recommend children under the age of 2, to wear face coverings).
2) Bring proof of identification.
3) Bring prior shot records.
4) Bring proof of certain immunizations on a #680 form (Florida Certificate of Immunization).
5) All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
