Health Advisory for Bacterial Levels Lifted - Jaycee Park on South Hutchinson Island

St. Lucie, County – Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County has lifted the swimming advisory at Jaycee Park on South Hutchinson Island. A new sample was taken on Monday, June 1, 2020, and test results returned today were satisfactory.

The advisory was issued because the level of enteric bacteria exceeded the standard set by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in samples collected last week.

Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County, Environmental Health Division, has been conducting saltwater beach water quality monitoring since July 2000, through the Healthy Beaches Monitoring Program. The Health Department monitors 6 sites, every week. The water samples are analyzed for enterococci bacteria.
