Ryan White Part B
Ryan White Part B is a federally-funded program designed to provide the planning, development and delivery of outpatient medical care, home health care and other support services to individuals living with HIV. If you’re living with HIV or AIDS and need help with the costs of your medical care and other services, there are services in Florida that you may be eligible to access.
Services include: outpatient medical care, case management, dental care, medications, mental health services, substance abuse counseling, direct emergency assistance, food, transportation and other support services.
Housing Assistance
Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) is a federally-funded program that provides temporary housing assistance.
AIDS Drugs Assistance
AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is a statewide, federally-funded prescription medication program for low-income individuals.
Perinatal HIV Prevention
Targeted Outreach for Pregnant Women Act (TOPWA) help underserved women access the medical and social services to lower their risk of substance use or acquiring or transmitting HIV. The goal of this program is to provide these high-risk pregnant women with referrals for much needed information and services.
- Encourages high-risk women of unknown status to be tested for HIV
- Educates pregnant women about the benefits of entering into prenatal care
- Provides HIV-infected pregnant women with information about the benefits of AZT therapy during pregnancy so they can make an informed decision about reducing the risks of perinatal transmission
- Provides referrals to medical and other social services

Jail Link
The Jail Link program provides the following services to incarcerated males and females within the St. Lucie County Jail:
- HIV and STD educational classes, counseling, and testing services
- Post-test counseling services for individuals identified as HIV positive and those identified as having a sexually transmitted disease
- Linkages to medical care for individuals identified as HIV positive and those identified as having a sexually transmitted disease
Currently, the program averages more than 1,200 HIV and STD tests annually. Inmates become aware of their status and learn ways to prevent the spread of their infection to other sexual partners.
