St. Lucie County – Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County will continue a swimming advisory for the following beach and river locations:

• South Beach Causeway
• Veterans Park-North Fork of the St. Lucie River

The sample results found higher than normal levels of enteric bacteria. Potential health risks for those who ingest or come in contact with the water include upset stomach, diarrhea, eye irritation and skin rashes.

The department has lifted the swimming advisory for:

• JC Park Beach

These sample results are in the acceptable range for enteric bacteria.

The Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County will continue to perform additional testing until results are satisfactory. Samples were collected October 9, 2017. Sampling is scheduled for Monday October 16, 2017 and the results will be available Wednesday October 18, 2017.
