Water Advisory Lifted
July 26, 2017
Follow up samples were in the acceptable range for enteric bacteria, the advisory for the river waters at River Park Marina and Veterans Park has ended.
Enteric bacteria inhabit the intestinal tract of humans and animals and their presence in recreational waters is an indicator of fecal pollution. The presence of these bacteria may come from storm water runoff, pets, wildlife and human sewage.
The advisory had been in effect since July 14, 2017. These areas will continue to be tested every other week along with ocean beaches, South Beach Causeway, and JC Park.
