Clint Sperber, Administrator

Clint Sperber is the administrator for the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County and the Central Florida (Region 5) Domestic Security Task Force Health and Medical Co-chair. He has worked with the department for 12 years beginning in public health preparedness which has served as a pivotal measure in preparing him for his present role. Under his supervision are the following departments: Dental, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Laboratories, Information Technology, General Services and Public Health Preparedness.

Clint understands where you live matters, and that public health touches our lives from birth to death; through his training and experience and a keen understanding he has become intimately involved in the agency’s intentional and unintentional injury prevention initiatives furthering the Department’s mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in St. Lucie County.

Clint has a long history of involvement with health and medical preparedness. He was chosen as one of two Florida Department of Health employees to represent Florida at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention pandemic influenza exercises in March and October 2008. He has served in leadership roles during several declared disaster, is a member of Central Florida’s Disaster Medical Assistance Team (FL-6), State Medical Assistance Team (SMRT 5), and our Region’s Incident Management Team. He has also served as a national reviewer for a public health preparedness recognition program, Project Public Health Ready.

Clint recently was appointed by Dr. Armstrong, State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health, to serve as Interim Director of the Department of Health's Division of Emergency Preparedness and Community Support and helped to select the permanent director.

In 2014, Clint was elected Steering Committee Chair for the St. Lucie County Executive Roundtable and serves as a board member. He was also appointed to the National Association of County City Health Official’s (NACCHO) 11-member Injury Violence Prevention Work Group.
